Malcolm's Story

Malcolm Harris, 19 years of age from Florence, Alabama was diagnosed in July 2019 with Large Cell B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  May 2018, Malcolm was living life as a senior in high school embarking upon the grand graduation day and looking forward to his soon to be college days when bodily ailments started to occur. Malcolm started experiencing night sweats (one of the symptoms) and feeling fatigue. After a few months of experiencing symptoms, his parents sought medical attention. Malcolm was first evaluated at the Women’s and Children hospital, Huntsville, AL. August 25, 2019. After a serious of test, it was determined and diagnosis was made. Malcolm was immediately taken into oncologist care and started chemotherapy at the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN.  Malcom was surrounded by loving and supportive family members as he completed a six (6) month treatment plan. Malcolm was successful in his fight with this dreaded disease and declared cancer free January 31, 2020. After final testing, Malcolm was released from St. Jude hospital February 2020.

Although Malcolm has completed this chapter, we certainly understand the difficult journey he was on.
